- Powers/Abilities: Dragonfly has the ability to fly and can hypnotize a target. She can also summon and control insects.
- History: Dragonfly’s past is mostly shrouded in mystery, but she was empowered by Dr. Kenneth Sturdy under the command of Count Nefaria, who wished her to be a part of his Ani-Men.
- (Uncanny X-Men #94) - At a secret North American Air Defense Command base, located in the Colorado Rockies, Dragonfly and the other Ani-Men appeared through a glowing portal, sent by their master, Count Nefaria, who planned on holding the world for ransom by taking command of America’s Strategic Missile Force. After they attacked the workers and defeat all of the soldiers, Count Nefaria then arrived and used an anesthetic gas to knock out the rest of the soldiers. Soon after, the X-Men arrived.
- (Uncanny X-Men #95) - Armed soldiers, hypnotized by Dragonfly, confronted the X-Men. After Storm conjured up a flood to carry the soldiers away, the X-Men engaged the Ani-Men in battle, with Storm taking on Dragonfly. During the fight, Dragonfly managed to use her hypnotic powers on Cyclops, which inadvertently opened his visor, unleashing an extremely powerful blast that hit Dragonfly and rendered her unconscious.
- (Uncanny X-Men #104 - Behind The Scenes) - Wolverine discovered that Dragonfly escaped custody during the X-Men’s violent battle against Magneto.
- (Behind The Scenes) - Under unrevealed circumstances, Dragonfly was captured by the enigmatic alien, the Stranger, and placed on his planet for study.
- (Quasar#14) - Dragonfly was inadvertently freed from her imprisonment by Quasar, who had traveled to the Stranger's world for his own purposes.
- (Quasar#16) - Dragonfly was among numerous villains driven to attack Quasar and various Squadron Supreme members by the powerful telepath called Overmind. During the battle, Dragonfly assaulted Lady Lark in hopes of coercing her into taking her to a ship that would get her off of the lab world and back home to Earth. However, the plot failed and she was later seen among the defeated.
- (Quasar#19 - Behind The Scenes) - Dragonfly was among the group of the Stranger’s prisoners that were taken back to Earth on a makeshift caravan led by the Jack of Hearts.
- (Quasar#20) - Dragonfly and the others made it to Earth with the help of Quasar, who landed them in Siberia. Receiving a distress call from Eon, Quasar fled, leaving Dragonfly and the others to fend for themselves, warning them that he’d come after them if they caused any trouble.
- (Iron Man Annual #12) - Dragonfly eventually succumbed to the radical changes wrought by the Stranger’s constant experimentation upon her being during the long period of time that she was his prisoner. Seeking help, Dragonfly sought out her sister, Margaret, who promptly isolated her in a special prison in hopes of profiting from Dragonfly’s dilemma. Before long, Dragonfly mutated further, transforming into an actual dragonfly. She was later discovered by Ant-Man, who battled her in her dragonfly form first before finally subduing her and liberating her from captivity.
- (Behind The Scenes) - Sometime after this, Dragonfly returned to her original form and was recruited by Superia, who wished to create a world similar to the one from which her descendant Thundra hailed, where Earth was ruled by women.
- (Captain America #389) - On Superia’s cruise ship, Dragonfly attended a pageant of power. When Superia’s lieutenant Nightshade spotted Captain America and Paladin, who had snuck aboard the ship, Dragonfly was among those who Nightshade ordered to attack Captain America and Paladin en masse.
- (Captain America #390) - During the battle against Captain America and Paladin, Dragonfly was taken down by Paladin with a well-aimed shot at one of her left wings.
- (Captain America #391) - Having recovered from Paladin’s attack, Dragonfly was among the many females who attended a meeting held by Superia, who explained to them the purpose of gathering them together. (see comments)
- (Captain America #411-413) - Dragonfly attended the AIM Weapons Expo with literally dozens of other super-villains. She was one of the many characters who swarmed Captain America, who had been disguised as Crossbones at the time while working undercover to infiltrate the Expo.
- (Thunderbolts #24-25) - Dragonfly joined the Crimson Cowl's Masters of Evil team. For the most part, Dragonfly avoided the huge melee between the Thunderbolts and the Masters of Evil. She was later summoned, along with Sunstroke, to protect the Crimson Cowl as she made her escape. However, she was defeated when Moonstone smashed Dragonfly's and Sunstroke's heads together, a move that knocked them out instantly.
- COMMENTS: In Captain America#391 Dragonfly was seen only at Superia’s big meeting. After that, there was no sign of her anywhere, so one can presume that, like several other females in attendance, Dragonfly left when she became disinterested in Superia’s plans.
- Unlikely to be used again elsewhere in a Marvel comic, Dragonfly now hosts her very own talk show, micro-hero style, on Alvaro’s Marvel Universe Message Board.
