February 23rd
through
March 9th:
New Deck
Building Pix

MAJOR PROJECT #1:
The tree that FINALLY STOPPED
the flippin’ truck was Carol’s
UNUSUALLY LARGE
Japanese Pagoda Tree.

Part of the tree was badly damaged
by the impact, and those bitz had to be
surgically removed to ensure that
the remaining tree would survive.

Thanx to great weather, that task was accomplished
rather rapidly (on February 2nd)!

The Tree-Removal service also chipped-up and took away
ALL the pieces-parts of the four smaller trees that were
completely TAKEN OUT by the TRUCK.

THEN, in late February, Roger’s Guyz started building the NEW DECK!

Since the demolished deck was made from REDWOOD … and since
REDWOOD is more precious than GOLD these days (as far as WOOD goes) …

We had the NEW deck built with “cheaper” wood (CEDAR) –
BUT, to a LARGER LENGTH than the old one.

(If Farmers Insurance gives me ANY grief about this, I WILL CHASTISE THEM! OH, Yeah!)

After removing the remaining Olde Deck bitz, Roger discovered that

the section of wood responsible for SUPPORTING the WEIGHT
of the Sliding Glass DOORS and one WINDOW was ROTTED OUT!

So, that ALSO had to replaced.

The weather continued to be FYNE!
And, the new build was quickly accomplished.

Unfortunately, these are the ONLY pix I took “during” the deck build.
