January 27:
The DEBRIS IS
GONE
& The
TEMPORARY
HABITAT IS UP

Poor little Jean Pierre (our incredibly UN-brave Prince) HID under an old desk,
in the farthest corner of the basement from the BEDROOM,
for ELEVEN HOURS after the explosion!
He was SO traumatized by the event that he SKIPPED BREAKFAST!

THE NEXT NIGHT, Jean Pierre
woke me THREE TIMES
pitifully CRYING because
he couldn’t GO OUTSIDE!

So, in the morning I called Roger
(the wonderful guy who’s going
to rebuild everything for us),
told him about our (JP’s) need,
and begged him to have someone
remove – or at least move –
all the debris TODAY,
so that I could get a
TEMPORARY Habitat built.

He smiled
and arranged for it to happen.

Because I took all the following pix after Steve (BLESS HIM!) helped me get the
temporary habitat put together, there are katz in every pic. Ginny was scratching madly
at the closed window WHILE we were building it. So, as soon as the majority of it was
zip-tied together, we let her out to SUPERVISE its completion.
Jean Pierre finally felt comfortable venturing out into the Habitat
once Uncle Steve left the vicinity. LOL!

All the debris GONE. Does this look WEIRD, or WHAT?!

The largest Habitat section (6 by 9 feet) was just NORTH of the truck’s PATH o’ DESTRUCTION.
So, although it was terribly MANGLED, it didn’t have any HOLES ripped in it.
It will eventually be REPLACED. But, we’re keeping it up for now.

All Steve & I had to do was put up the main “run”
from the window flap to the surviving large section bit.

Both the next pix are taken from inside my bedroom,
with the camera resting in the flap-opening.
