In mid-June, Roger completed the KAT HABITAT section
that extends UNDER the finished DECK:
As with everything else, he did a FANTABULOUS job!
Unfortunately, that area was BIGGER than the section of CARPET
that was left over after creating the new “OUTDOOR GYM”
Thus, a small area of DIRT was still exposed – DIRT that would occasionally
become MUD for the Katz to TRACK INTO the house!
Obviously, this was NOT a “concern” for the KATZ!
They LUVED the new romping area!
But, it drove ME kraZy. So, I decided to get NEW Carpet for that section.
BY THE WAY! During his work to replace/repair the deck
(and habitat), Roger German and I have become GREAT FRIENDS!
He’s a guitar-player, and now regularly attends the “PICKIN’ PARTIES”
hosted by my friends. So, I get to SING WITH HIM from time to time!
[That’s ROGER, above: playing his guitar with his butt against the WHITE POLE.]
I’m hoping that I’ll be able to sing with him even MORE often, in future.
Otay. Back to the RESTORATION bitz!:
When I went to buy new carpet for the under-deck section of the Habitat,
I ended up being “dazzled” by this GREEN indoor/outdoor carpet.
Unfortunately, it STANDS OUT more than the “blah” beige carpet did.
But, WHATHEHELL!?!? – It works for NOW!
Maybe I’ll replace it with more “blah” beige carpet some day.
Maybe not.
The only “RESTORATION” bit o’ biZness that hasn’t been
accomplished to date, is the planting of THREE new trees
(to replace the FIVE trees wiped-out by Evan May’s truck.)
Although we’ve already paid for them (and their installation),
they cannot be put in until this FALL.
So, we have to wait until then to be “COMPLETELY” done with this project!.
As for the REPAIR & RESTORATION EXPENSES:

Farmer’s Mutual
Insurance Company
attempted to weasel out of
paying the entire expense of
repairing/restoring what
their client DESTROYED.
As soon as their rep began
whining about “betterment”
(depreciation) deductions,
I simply STOPPED HIM.
I Thanked him for his attention.
(Hey! I swear I did it without
sounding SNOTTY!) |
Then I left their office and trotted to OUR INSURANCE COMPANY!
STATE FARM is going to GO AFTER Farmer’s, and will eventually
obtain from them EVERY CENT that was spent on this project!
LESSON BEING:
STATE FARM is a FAR BETTER INSURANCE COMPANY
Than FARMER’S!
So. HERE IT IS!

has been REPAIRED or RESTORED.
