THE
NEW TREES
ARE FINALLY
INSTALLED
!!!

First … before we get to the NEW TREES PIX …

HERE IS THE REST OF THE STORY
ABOUT HOW WE OBTAINED FULL PAYMENT
FROM FARMERS MUTUAL INSURANCE COMPANY!

[You can page-down past this stuff, if you’re not interested! LOL]

From the “get-go,” I knew that no one could adequately “estimate” what it was going to cost to repair and replace
everything damaged by the drunk driver. (Especially considering the fact that NO ONE could possible estimate how
many labor hours it would take to rebuild the Habitat! I certainly couldn’t remember how long it took me to build the
one that was destroyed. And, NO ONE – including Roger – had never built anything like it before.)
So, rather than submitting ESTIMATES for all the expenses, and having to FUSS WITH getting MORE MONEY
from the Insurance Company at a LATER DATE (when the estimates fell far short of the actual cost), I simply paid
for EVERYTHING to be done before submitting anything to the Insurance company.

I paid for the work required to construct the new deck and the new Habitat, and paid to accomplish the replacement
trees. (The trees were ordered, purchased, and their FALL installation fees paid in JUNE or so.)
ONLY THEN, did I have a truly realistic (ACTUAL) “TOTAL COST” assessment for the repair and replacement
fees that would be required from FARMERS MUTUAL INSURANCE COMPANY.

The actual TOTAL COST came to $10,488.76.
When I submitted the actual TOTAL COST to Farmers Mutual, they refused to pay it.
[Can we say, “I was SOOOOO NOT surpriZed by that!”? I think we can!]
So, I went through OUR Insurance company; State Farm.

State Farm IMMEDIATELY paid us MOST of the TOTAL COST: $9466.43.
They subtracted $500.00 from the total submitted, due to our policy’s “deductible” fee.
And, apparently, our LAWN isn’t as well-covered as our home “structures” are –
$522.33 of the actual Tree replacement expense was not covered by our policy.
[Three large (6-to-7 feet tall) trees, delivery and labor (planting) fees, came to a whopping $2022.30!]

BUT! The truly FUN thing is THIS:
STATE FARM went after FARMERS MUTUAL
for the ENTIRE EXPENSE!!!

A few weeks after the initial State Farm check (for $9466.43) arrived,
we received a check from Farmers Mutual for $522.30
State Farm forced Farmers to reimburse us for “out-of-pocket” expenses (Tree replacement fees)
that were NOT covered by our State Farm policy!

Soon after THAT, we received another check from STATE FARM, for the amount of $500.00!
Since State Farm went after the Farmers Mutual Scumbagz for the TOTAL EXPENSE of repair and replacement
(including our deductible payment), once State Farm GOT that money from the Farmers Mutual Scumbagz,
State Farm REFUNDED US for our deductible payment!

THUS! Apart from THREE CENTS, the ENTIRETY of
our expenses for repairing and replacing the damage done
by the drunk Farmers-Mutual-insured-Guy
were awarded to us BY FARMERS MUTUAL – but
ONLY due to STATE FARM’s intervention!

LESSON BEING: STATE FARM ROCKS!
FARMER’S MUTUAL SUCKS! LOL

Although FOUR trees were destroyed, we only replaced THREE.
