Ruby left Las Vegas on SATURDAY, arriving in London on Sunday, May 21 –
whereupon, she immediately scurried to board the EUROSTAR
(the train that travels through a TUNNEL BENEATH the English Channel!),
so that she could spend A NIGHT & DAY IN PARIS!

The Village of CULROSS was our FIRST STOP:
I’d never even heard of Culross. But, Brodie knew to take me there!
Culross village is “a 16th century time capsule”!!! The National Trust
for Scotland has been renovating & protecting Culross for more than 76 years.OhMyGawdess!!! I could have spent the WHOLE DAY in CULROSS!

This is the private stable where his daughter’s horse is boarded. After that, Brodie
took me to a lovely out-of-the-way Country Restaurant – “LOGANLEA” – for TEA.
“Castle Campbell (or Castle Gloom as it was once called, derived from the Gaelic "glom"
meaning chasm) is one of the most romantic castles in Scotland.”

This was the SECOND Castle Ruby booked us in.
Dalhousie is the BEST BANG for your CASTLE BUCKS!
I highly recommend staying here. It is glorious! And, it is “relatively” inexpensive.
No matter how much money Dalhousie Castle proprietors pay
Pipe Sergeant Andrew Sharp, the service he provides to Dalhousie Castle and its
GUESTS is worth 10 times that amount!I dearly hope they realize that.
Yup. Ruby CRASHED a WEDDING!

Ruby & I didn’t actually VISIT Rosslyn Castle – Dammit!
Had I seen The Da Vinci Code movie before this – or known that such a splendid castle
was so near – we WOULD have taken the time to WALK there from the Chapel!
Here are some Internet-snagged pix & some info for those interested in Rosslyn Castle.
In NORTHALLERTON, England, we visited the famous Lewis & Cooper
specialty store and enjoyed a late lunch (“TEA”!) at Bettys Café Tea Rooms.
After dropping Ruby off, I headed to my hotel (the Heathrow Sheraton), turned in the car
and checked in for my last night in the UK in 2006.
