Ray & Chas Visit The
Imperial War Museum

After Carol and Ruby trotted down the street to Kensington Palace,
Chas & Ray spent a half-hour, or MORE (GADZ!),
finding a CAB to take them to The IMPERIAL WAR MUSEUM.

After we finally were enroute, Chas recognized when we were driving through the
vicinity of BUCKINGHAM PALACE, and remembered that Ray had voiced
a desire to see THE CHANGING OF THE GUARDS – several times!

SO … since they happened to be in that vicinity at the TIME of
THE CHANGING OF THE GUARDS (11:00 am),
Ray & Chas diverted the cab, and got out at Buckingham Palace.

Chas had advised AGAINST going to the changing of the guards
because it was always SO CROWED that you couldn’t SEE anything
significant unless you got there over an hour before so that you could
secure a spot that was CLOSE to the “action”!!!

And – INDEED – it was practically impossible for Ray to
SEE anything significantly FUN. But, HEY! WE WERE THERE!

After walking through the huge THRONG crowded around the palace,
Ray & Chas began looking for another CAB so that we could continue our trek
to the Imperial War Museum.

We ended up walking all the way to the ROYAL MEWS gift shop,
where we bought a few gifties.

Another couple blocks (and another half-hour) later, we finally got another CAB!

AT LAST,
we arrived
at the
IMPERIAL
WAR
MUSEUM!

Once there, RAY CONTINUED HIS KRAZY CANE BITZ!!!

“PRESENT … CANE!”

“RIGHT SHOULDER … CANE!”

“LEFT SHOULDER … CANE! –
and SALUTE!!!”

Something I never did get a picture of (Whack me on the HEAD!):
Ray “PLAYING” his cane like it was a SAXOPHONE or a CLARINET!
There are HOLES in the cane, where you can adjust its length.
So, he’d hold it out in front of himself as though it was an instrument,
place his fingers on the holes and mime playing it! LOL

We had a splendid time wandering through the WORLD WAR II exhibits
(a mere SNIPPET of the many exhibits that are housed there!),
had a light lunch, and made it back to the hotel
in time for Ray to get a NAP before our EVENING events!

The evening events were rather ho-hum. Ruby’s back was in bad shape,
so she stayed in. Ray, Carol, & Chas had dinner at a nearby restaurant.
Then, it was back to the hotels to pack up and sleep.

When I walked Ray & Carol back to their hotel, Ray insisted that I accompany
him to the dining room to see, “The picture of YOU!”

Apparently, this painting reminded Ray & Carol of
their krazy gypsy daughter! Must be the HAIR.
