HEVER CASTLE is the ancestral home of ANNE BOLEYN,
Henry the Eighth’s SECOND wife … the first wife (of two) that he BEHEADED …
and the MOTHER of Elizabeth I – Got him BACK, didn’t she?! LOL

Is this SPECTACULAR – or WHAT?!!!

HEVER CASTLE is a “thirteenth century romantic castle …”

“The oldest part of the castle dates to 1270 and consisted of the gatehouse and a
walled bailey. In the early 1500’s, the Bullen family bought the castle and
added a Tudor dwelling within the walls and so it became the childhood home of its most
famous inhabitant, Anne Boleyn. [Historians suspect that Anne was BORN in the castle.]
It later passed into the ownership of Henry’s fourth wife, Anne of Cleves.”

“Finally, in 1903, William Waldorf Astor [an American] invested time,
money and imagination in restoring the Castle, building the ‘Tudor Village’
and creating the gardens and lake.”

“The Water Maze on Sixteen Acre Island and
the Yew Maze challenges both adults and children alike!”

But, it was NOT the FIRST PIC TAKEN OF US!

We had barely walked 6 feet into the Faire before we were approached by
some PATRONS asking to have their photo taken WITH US! LOL
Well, of course, we agreed to pose with them!
But, imagine their surpriZe when we told them we weren’t EMPLOYEES!
“We’re just MADD YANKS, visiting the castle – just like you!”

This place was absolutely GORGEOUS!

And – although rain had been threatened – the weather was sublime!

This HAS to be the most STRONGLY-WORDED
UK sign I’ve ever seen! LOL
