CHAS’ & RUBY’S 2006 UK TOUR: MORE of The HEVER CASTLE “MERRIE ENGLAND” FAIRE

I was terrifically BUMMED when I learned that the Hever Tudor Village
was OFF-LIMITS! I anticipated it at least providing a “backdrop” to the festivities!

Apparently, however, the Hever Tudor Village is a “conference” event complex …
with SOME cottages used (lived in!) by various high-ranking EMPLOYEES.

So, they don’t allow the PUBLIC to venture anywhere NEAR the Tudor Cottages!

What a LOST opportunity for FUN and “Corporate Marketing”!
Ah, well. What can you say? Other than …
Corporate MIS-management clearly exists in the UK as well as the US!

Ruby photographed this ANCIENT WISTERIA trunk CLOSE-UP
because it looked like tumor-laden BRAIN MATTER!

She figured she could use it in one of her BRAIN CANCER lectures.

Subsequently, she took THIS PIC to WAKE UP her students:

When we first arrived, this MADRIGAL CHOIR was performing before the Castle.

AS IT HAPPENS …

The ONLY folkz who seemed to – maybe – have a “problem”
with US attending IN COSTUME were these “ROYAL-GARBED” types.

They certainly weren’t “rude” or anything!
They were just a bit standoffish … just a bit SNOOTY around us.

DID we CARE?
Need you really ASK?! LOL

OH! BTW:
We did NOT go INTO Hever Castle!
The line to get into it was “20 minutes” long!!!
Which means that: were we to stand in line that long, we’d be slowly trudging
through the Castle rooms with TONZ o’ people trudging along with us.
NOT GOING TO HAPPEN!

Likely, the incredibly long line was because our visit was on a “Bank Holiday,”
in addition to being on one of the “Merrie England Faire” dayz!
SOOOO. Were ye to visit Hever Castle on a non-Bank/Faire-Holiday,
ye’d probably be able to TOUR the CASTLE without having to trudge through
such a LONG LINE.
