ALL [but one!] pix on this page were taken by RUBY & CHAS.
The first Craft-Person we met was the Master COIN STRIKER GRUNAL!
Not only did he personally engrave the forms (“dies”) used to strike all the coins
he was selling … HE MADE THE “PERIOD” EYE GLASSES that he wore!
[Oh, OK. An optometrist made the lenses in them! Get over it.]
The PRESENTATION he did for all was wonderful!
He provided a very entertaining explanation of how coins were “struck”
down through the ages. Then DEMONSTRATED the technique!
He gave me (free!) the HEVER CASTLE coin he prepared for this event
AND the coin that he uses as his “Business Card”!
Although it was a terrifically clever idea to use a coin as a “Business Card”
it wasn’t the BEST idea ever. His coins are so small that they are easy to LOSE!
But, thankfully, I managed to fynd them in my luggage.
So, Go to the GRUNAL MONETA Website!
OHMYGAWDESS!

You really

learn about
the fabu coins
he makes. |
I think I’m going to have to ORDER a bag o’ CELTIC coins from him!
[I wish I’d just bought them while I was there. JeeZe.]
“Lionheart Replicas are the leading supplier of replica historic pewter.
Although we are able to produce items from all time periods our specialties
are the Medieval and Tudor ages.”
I bought this
wonderful
“15th Century
Maidenhead Spoon”
from Lionheart.
“The Maiden head was a relatively
common form of late medieval pewter spoon,
the earliest known reference … dated 1446.
It is believed that the bust
may represent the Virgin Mary.” |

[PS: Their pewter is lead free!]
ALL the CRAFT-PERSONS we met were terrifically welcoming
and not at all put OFF by us being IN WENCH GARB.
In fact, they clearly seemed to enjoy our silliness!
Here are Phil & Deb Quallington of THE LEATHER MAN
Such SUPER FOLKZ! Besides being fabulously friendly,
they provided us with suggestions for what to do &
where to go at our next lodgings stop: CAMBRIDGE!
As with the other CRAFT-PERSONS at this Faire, Phil & Deb provided
demonstrations of how they make their wares.
Be sure to visit their WEBSITE!
They’ve got tonz o’ great stuff there.
OH! This guy! He was soooo very fun to meet and speak with …
and his wares were so YUMMY, I totally forgot why I don’t DO
the charcoal-burner-incense-GIG and bought a bunch o’ stuff! LOL
Pan’s Pantry is his website.
Pete (of Pete and Gracia Travis) with RUBY!
What did I forget about “why I don’t DO the charcoal-burner-incense-GIG”?:
It’s MESSY …
When you light the charcoal briquette, your SMOKE ALARM will go off …
It’s MESSY …
You have to keep adding incense resin to the charcoal like every 5 minutes …
It’s MESSY … And, so on.
BUT, oh! It really, REALLY smells great when you burn incense resin with charcoal!
Ah, well. I’ll use it!
