CHAS’ & RUBY’S |
Unless otherwise indicated, ALL interior Hedingham pix were taken by CHAS!
I began my TOUR of HEDINGHAM by romping up some exterior steps,
and entering what once was the “Guardroom” or “Garrison Floor.”
These days, that location houses the “GIFT SHOP and TEA ROOM”
and all other public parts of the castle are accessed from that level.
“Gift Shop” I first went DOWNSTAIRS, to the “Dungeon” / “Storage” area. |
Ruby (with her cane) would NOT have been able to casually romp around
on these very SKINNY CIRCULAR steps!
Thus, it is HAPPY that Ruby had absolutely NO INTEREST
in actually romping about INSIDE any of the Castles we visited!
of the castle, the “Dungeon” / “Storage Area” was the most vulnerable part of the castle.
Thus, there are |
the WIDTH of the “ground floor” section of the CASTLE WALL!
“Over |
“ground floor” (dungeon), I returned to the “Guardroom” (Gift Shop & Tea Room) level, then immediately went UP some more stairs, to the BANQUETING HALL. |
I had a great time visiting with the COSTUMED PERSON who was
“stationed” in the Banqueting Hall a Lady who provided all sorts of
interesting information about that space, and other Castle aspects.
I went UP SOME MORE STEPS to the

“Minstrel’s Gallery” I went UP EVEN MORE STEPS to the “Dormitory Floor” that TODAY houses the “EDWARD de VERE” EXHIBIT. |
