CHAS’ & RUBY’S 2006 UK TOUR
Afternoon of Wednesday, May 31st

CHAS & RUBY
Visit The
WILLIAM
WALLACE
MONUMENT

After leaving Doune Castle, I headed back to Stirling to pick Ruby up.
Well, of course I missed an exit and had to turn around …
But, while turning around I was able to snap this pic of
one of my ALL-TIME FAVORITE UK SIGNS!

[This sign is especially … poignant … now that I’m 50!!! LOL]

Finally, I managed to find my way back to the Stirling Shopping district …

Managed to find the place where I dropped Ruby off …

AND, I even managed to find a PARKING SPACE

CLOSE to the PUB where we’d agreed to meet!

After a “cuppa”
(Oh, OK! I had ONE
lousy glass o’ wine!)
we headed off to visit
The
WILLIAM
WALLACE
MONUMENT

“Completed in 1869 after eight years'
construction, the 220 feet high
Wallace Monument sits prominently
on the Abbey Craig two miles north
of the city of Stirling itself.”

Visitors to the Wallace Monument can enjoy the following:

Well. Visitors to the Wallace Monument can enjoy those things
ONLY IF THEY ARRIVE
DURING THE HOURS THAT THE MONUMENT IS OPEN! LOL

Unfortunately,
WE arrived
after closing time!
(After 5 pm.)

So …
Ruby & I enjoyed
milling about
in the parking lot
at the BASE of
the Abbey Craig,
and taking pix
of the monument
from there!
LOL

HEY! We got these great GIANT BUNNY PIX …

taken through the FENCE that surrounded this nearby meadow!

GO TO THE NEXT PAGE:
We Return to Airth Castle and then go OUT TO DINNER.
