CHAS’ & RUBY’S
2006 UK TOUR

Thursday, June 1st:
A Few More
CULROSS VILLAGE
PIX

After enjoying the
CULROSS ABBEY
grounds,
graveyard,
and church,
we walked back
DOWN
(hooooo-rah!)

the
cobblestone lane
to
CAT’S CLOSE,
and went
into it.

This is the view
looking BACK
through
CAT’S CLOSE
to the lane
we came from.

Cat’s Close led
us to a
grassy lane
that we followed
down to the
waterfront
(beach)
of The Forth.

“The village looks across the River Forth to industrial oil refineries,

a power station and a derelict colliery
[coal processing plant],

a marked contrast to Culross's natural beauty.”

OH!
What FUN!!!

In a lovely little park
along the waterfront,
I found another
STUNNING
addition to my
UK SIGN
COLLECTION

and a rather
STRONG-WORDED
one, at that!

LOL!!!

“IT IS AN OFFENCE FOR ANY PERSON IN CHARGE OF A DOG
TO ALLOW IT TO DEPOSIT ITS EXCREMENT WITHIN THIS AREA.”

Along our way, we passed by this gorgeous place!
“The Community Garden, designed by local landscape gardener
Dilys Livingston, is a community project started in 1998 by
Charlie Dimmock, with the help of ‘Charlie's Garden Army.’ …”

“It transformed a derelict area of a former school playground into
an award-winning Mediterranean style garden.

The garden features sculptures created by local adults and children;
they include a unicorn of steel wire, a dragon of local roof tiles,
and a serpent carved by chainsaw.”

We arrived
back at
Brodie’s car

then
headed
out of
CULROSS.

As I said before, one could spend an ENTIRE DAY visiting CULROSS

– and I HIGHLY recommend doing so!

But … WE had other places to go!
