Thankfully, Ruby wasn’t interested in a Terror Tour of Edinburgh’s Underground.
I say, “Thankfully,” because the tour I went on was an
INCREDIBLY ARDUOUS, and rather WORTHLESS romp!
(More about THAT, later!)
Instead, at the suggestion of our Gifford House Host, Ruby walked around the block
to the Hotel Ceilidh-Donia’s Restaurant to have dinner.
If I remember correctly … Ruby struck up conversation with a couple dining near her
table, and ended up having a perfectly LOVELY time chatting with them!
Besides that,
Ms. FYNE DINING declared their food to be “EXCELLENT!”
Ruby had their “Sirloin Steak with Whiskey & Mustard Butter” for dinner.
In fact, she enjoyed the MUSTARD so much, that Ruby mentioned it to our Gifford
House Host the next morning after breakfast. Whereupon, Margaret immediately called
her friend Annette (o’ the Ceilidh-Donia) to ASK about the mustard they used.
(Stuff like this is why I LUV B&Bs!)
THAT conversation led us to discover the perfect HALF-POINT STOP for the
LAST DRIVE of our trip: The “world-renowned gourmet emporium” (store)
Lewis and Cooper, in Northallerton, North Yorkshire!
(Pix and info on THAT page, when we get to it! LOL)
MEANWHILE; I jumped into a TAXI, went back to the city center, and
signed up for a “TERROR TOUR” of Edinburgh’s Underground VAULTS.
