CHAS’ & RUBY’S 2006 UK TOUR

Sunday, June 4th: Breakfast At DALHOUSIE & FAREWELL!

On Sunday, we had about a SEVEN-HOUR drive to accomplish, in order to reach our
London Airport Hotels, and catch our Monday Morning flights back to the US of A.

Soon after waking on our last day touring the UK,

I leaned out our Dalhousie Castle room’s window and shot these pix.

Then … I looked below, and saw several cannons …

THEN, I noticed the SIGN on the parapet, regarding the area where the cannons were.
Either the ROOF is unsafe there, OR, being near the CANNONS is unsafe!
I’m not sure which! Maybe it’s BOTH! LOL

Ah!YE OLDE TRIP BOOKE had significantly DWINDLED!

(Since this was our LAST DAY, almost all of the remaining pages were
just RECEIPTS and BLANK notes pages!)

After dressing, we traveled down stone-wall-lined stairs to the ORANGERY.

The ORANGERY is the room wherein the breakfast that was INCLUDED IN OUR ROOM FEE was served. Check out the SIGN! “RUN” … “Down this Way” … to the “DOOR” ???? Scots must be very serious about getting breakfast! LOL

The ORANGERY is a gorgeous room …

with a fantastic view of the RIVER ESK,
and the grounds south of the Castle, from its many windows!

We were either the FIRST to arrive – or we were very LATE for breakfast.
(I suspect it is more likely that we were very LATE! LOL)

Oh, SOB! My last SCOTTISH BREAKFAST!

11:00 to 12:00 = Sausage Link & Grilled Tomato half … 1:00 = “Tatie Scone” (delicious potato thingy)
5:00 to 6:00 = Sautéed Mushrooms … 9:00 = Haggis and Blood Pudding (the black thingy)

Ruby’s last SCOTTISH BREAKFAST! = NOT!

Ruby didn’t enjoy the Haggis and Blood Pudding, as I did.
Hence, what she had while in Scotland was an ENGLISH Breakfast!

OH! As we were leaving…

Ruby struck up a conversation with these two women.

Lo and behold! They were FROM LAS VEGAS! The world is SOOOO SMALL!
