DADDY'S LITTLE GIRL

We have walked through fields of buttercups

Picking wildflowers as we strolled

Your hand in mine was oh so small

And your heart belonged to me

In playgrounds I have heard you squeal

As you begged me to push you higher

For you wanted to touch the sky

And your heart belonged to me

Along the shores gathering seashells

With the sunshine in your hair

You looked up at me and smiled

And your heart belonged to me

At bedtime the stories I have told

Late at night I watched you sleep

An angel upon your pillow you became

And your heart belonged to me

Through school and all the growing years

I always tried my best to be there for you

I watched you grow into a beautiful young woman

And your heart belonged to me

Today you will walk down the aisle

I will be beside you all the way

You'll leave my side for one last time

And your heart will belong to him

Remember all the good times

And how proud I am of you

And save but just a little space

Deep within your heart

You are and always will be

Daddy's little girl

And your heart will belong to me
