THE SANDERS FAMILY PHOTO ALBUM |
ROBERT WESLEY SANDERS c.1913
This photo shows Dad aged about 14 (I think) around the time that he left school and went to work as an articled clerk for Ivor Vachell, Solicitor of Cardiff. |
ROBERT WESLEY SANDERS c.1917 This photograph was taken about 1917 when Dad enlisted in the Royal Welsh Fusiliers. He was posted to Palestine where he spent the whole of his First World War service, about which he wrote a book.
ROBERT WESLEY SANDERS c.1921 I think this photograph was taken around 1920 when Dad had returned from War service in the army and joined the Civil Service. |
ROBERT WESLEY SANDERS c.1947
A nice picture of Dad taken about 1947. Probably taken before in Germany, where he was serving the Control Commission for Germany with the army equivalent rank of Captain. This was possibly the last photograph taken before he was involved in a severe car accident in which his driver was killed and he was badly injured resulting in massive plastic surgery to rebuild the right side of his face.
