Batting Averages, 98
John Moorhouse topped the averages with not only an 81 not out, but several scores in the 40's. Robert Leech led the averages until half way through the season, when Richard Seaman took over the lead. Robert then dropped to 5th, before recovering, while Richard's average plummeted and recovered late in the season. Ernest Birch was third for most the season, but he was overtaken by higher scores. Ian Melvin was 4th and 5th mostly, before his 113 took him to 2nd, close to John's average. In the last game, the positions were decided with Ian needing 55 more runs than John to take the top spot; he scored a golden duck. James Worby recovered his average from 8 to 19, and John Hogg managed to get an average higher than his top score by persistent not outs.
