Garboldisham, forced to bat first on a good wicket wiht a sluggish outfield, made enough runs to recieve nearly full points again. Star of the show was 16 year old debutante, Richard Seaman, who made 76 runs and took 2 wickets to set up the victory. Loosing early wickets, teh situation looked bad when Seaman joined the opener, Ernest Birch (28). They quickly put on 60 for the third wicket, and later runs from Paul Baker pushed the score to 170/9. Wickets from S Cooper, 4/40, prevented full points. CEYMS/Gothic also lost early wickets, but could never recover. 23 runs from E Warner and 22 from D Clarke helped prevent a complete collapse, but the bowling of Richard Seaman, Robert Crane, Will Dyer and Nigel Ling constantly kept the runs low and wickets falling. The eventual victory was achieved after 42 overs, the most worrying part being an injury to John Hogg.
