Garboldisham again batted first, again starting slowly. Johnny Wyatt and David Kemp put on 50 before both falling quickly, Johnny's wicket being the first of Dobing's. The ever reliable Ian Melvin boosted the scoring rate, joint top-scoring with 42. His dismissal left Ernest Birch to make the runs, and again he got 42, both Melvin and Birch falling to Matt Taylor. All of the 7 batsmen used made valuable runs, but could not push the score past 200 for the 5th batting point. Dersingham were always on the back foot, when 2 wickets fell with the scores at 26 and at 44. Joe Pontin took 2 wickets in 2 balls, while Darryl Shailes' good line also took 2. Only Tony Dobing could score off the tight bowling, and he was the first of Ernest Birch's 2 wickets after he scored 42. Will Dyer was the next to get 2 wickets, and Garboldisham thought the match was won when Dersingham were 128 for 9 in the 36th over. Matt Taylor and D Booth became beneficiaries of dropped catches and relaxed fielding, and despite the efforts of John Moorhouse to put them off by chatting-up the player's girlfriends, the last pair took Dersingham past the 90% to earn a loosing draw.
