Garboldisham did not play well against good bowling in another 7 hour epic. After an early collapse, John Moorhouse and James Worby led the recovery, while later on Joe Pontin made a match winning 22. Norwich Union only needed 125 to win, and no early breakthroughs looked a dangerous situation. The spin of Stuart Lake and usual wicket keeper Ernest Birch soon had Norwich in trouble, falling to 48/5. Mohammed Pryce then made 31 and John Spaxman 17 in 2 overs byt the run rate was slow enough for Garboldisham to win and avoid cup relegation.
