Thespians are members of the International Thespian Society,
an organization of young actors. Each troupe puts together plays,
musicals, and skits, and is eligible to attend state, national, and
international Thespian Conference. Thespians emphasize excellence in the
fine arts and, in particular, the theater.
I promise to uphold the aims and ideals of the International Thespian
Society. I am a student of theater and excellence is my ideal. I promise
to perform my part as well as I can; to accept praise and criticism with
grace; to cooperate with my fellow Thespians and work for the good of the
Troupe; and to share my love of the theater.

The Thespian Motto
"Act well your part; there all the honor lies." Alexander Pope's Essay on Man, Epistle iv, line 193
Conference, at the state, national, and international level, is a chance for Thespians from all over to meet. Some troupes bring plays to the stage, while everyone attends classes and workshops on everything from lighting to mime to juggling to stage fighting to dancing to getting just that perfect British accent for your next play.

The Northside Thespian Troupe, 2892, is a group of nearly fifty students dedicated to excellence in the theater. Members must be students of Northside High School, and must have been in at least two school musicals, two Miss Northside Pageants, or one of the competition One-Act Shows. Our members include actors, actresses, singers, dancers, musicians, set crew: all those people who come together to make a show happen.
Troupe 2892 is under the direction of the finest drama teacher in the state, Mr. Northside himself, Mr. Ray Horne. Under Mr. Horne's direction, Northside High School has won the annual State One-Act competition sixteen times in the last thirty years. The NHS Fine Arts department remains committed to excellence.
Each year, NHS presents a competition One-Act show, which sometimes travels to perform in different cities throughout the state. Around February, the One-Act returns to Northside to put on a dinner theater. Troupe 2892 also puts together the Miss Northside Pageant. In the Spring Semester, the band, choral, and drama departments come together to put on a spectacular spring musical.
Come join us, and see an exciting show. We are committed to presenting a quality show, and instilling a love of theater in the community. The show can't happen without an audience, so check out what's playing and treat yourself to a great performance.
The Northside High School Thespian Troupe would like to congratulate its new officers for the 1998-1999 school year. Kristi Murchinson will be the new president of Thespian Troupe 2892. Vice-President will be Quiana Campbell. The office of secretary will be held by Kristi Garrett. Misty Wicks will be the new treasurer. We would also like to take this time to thank the outgoing officers of the 1997-1998 school year: Chris Hall (President), Robert Warren (Vice-President), Colleen Carlton (Secretary), Frances Wilson (Treasurer), and Kelly Jones (Public Relations). Finally, we would like to wish the best of luck to all graduating Thespians of Troupe 2892.

We're sorry, but at this time we don't really know what show we'll be doing for the One-Act competition this year. Be sure to check back in the coming weeks, though, for information about the next show. Thank you.
