3. Abraham Lincoln GALENTINE (William A.) was born 16 Sep 1844 in Putneyville,
Armstrong County, Pennsylvania. He died 11 Aug 1928 in Luthersburg, Clearfield County,
Pennsylvania and was buried in St. Luke's United Church Of Christ Cemetery, Luthersburg,
Clearfield County, Pennsylvania.

Abraham was a Private in Company D, 103rd Pennsylvania Volunteers Infantry. He was
mustered in on 25 Sep 1861. He was captured in Plymouth, North Carolina on 20 Apr 1864
and was held in Andersonville Prison (Code 40306), Andersonville, Georgia. He was
discharged on 25 Sep 1865.

Abraham's headstone has the dates 1846 - 1927, but:
a) The 1900 census has his month and year of birth as Sep 1844.
b) His brother George's family bible has his date of death as 11 Aug 1928.
c) A deed in the Clearfield County Courthouse (vol 297, pg 379) states he died in
testate on 11 Aug 1928.
d) His wife Nancy filed for widowers pension in 1928.

Abraham married Nancy Jane RICHNER about 1872. Nancy was born 17 May 1852 in Snow Shoe, Centre
County, Pennsylvania. She died 3 Apr 1935 in Luthersburg, Clearfield County, Pennsylvania
and was buried in St. Luke's United Church Of Christ Cemetery, Luthersburg, Clearfield County,
Pennsylvania.

Nancy's headstone has the name "Gallentine".

They had the following children:

14 F ii. Mary Ellen GALENTINE was born 16 Nov 1878. She died 1963 and was
buried in St. Luke's United Church Of Christ Cemetery, Luthersburg,

Mary's marriage application is filled out as "Gallentine".

Mary married Charles O. SWARTZLANDER on 10 May 1896 in Luthersburg,
Clearfield County, Pennsylvania. Charles was born 1872. He died
1962 and was buried in St. Luke's United Church Of Christ Cemetery,
Luthersburg, Clearfield County, Pennsylvania.

Charles's parents were Joseph and Nancy Swartzlander.

+16 M iv. James Blaine GALENTINE was born 20 May 1883 and died 15 Feb 1957.
17 F v. Fannie L. GALENTINE was born 15 Mar 1886 in Armstrong County,
Pennsylvania. She died 10 May 1965 in Clearfield Hospital,
Clearfield, Clearfield County, Pennsylvania and was buried in
Sprague Cemetery (near Reynoldsville), Jefferson County,
Pennsylvania.

Fannie married (1) ????? HILLIARD. The marriage ended in divorce.

????? and Fannie were divorced 1905.

Fannie also married (2) George W. BAILEY on 7 Jul 1916 in Troutville,
Clearfield County, Pennsylvania. George was born 17 Jul 1876 in
Winslow Township, Jefferson County, Pennsylvania. He died 29 Sep 1959
in Wishaw, Jefferson County, Pennsylvania and was buried in Prospect
Cemetery (near Reynoldsville), Jefferson County, Pennsylvania.

George's parents were Samuel and Angeline Sprague Bailey.

18 F vi. Bertha GALENTINE was born 26 Apr 1888. She died 1 Jan 1906.

Bertha's marriage application was filled out as "Galatan", but the
certificate of marriage had "Galentine". There was no signature for
Bertha on the form.

Bertha married I. S. MUTH on 5 Aug 1904 in Luthersburg, Clearfield
County, Pennsylvania. I. S. MUTH was born about 1883.

I.S.'s parents were Adam and Maggie Muth.

+19 M vii. William Harrison GALENTINE was born 17 May 1892 and died 23 Jun 1965.
20 F viii. Maude Idella GALENTINE was born 25 Jan 1896.

5. Alphonsus Genere GALENTINE (William A.) was born 12 Sep 1848. He died 21 Nov 1925 and
was buried in Slate Hill Cemetery, Dayton, Pennsylvania.

The paper my dad had listed Alphonso's date of birth as 12 Sep 1847. A newspaper
article from the Indiana Evening Gazatte of 14 Sep 1911 states that he was celebrating
his 63rd birthday, which would mean he was born in 1848.

Alphonsus married Evaline G. COPPICK. Evaline was born 28 Feb 1849. She died 1924 and was
buried in Slate Hill Cemetery, Dayton, Pennsylvania.

Evaline's maiden name on the marriage application for Harry is hard to read, but
appears to be Cappisio. An obituary for George has her name as Coppick, and May's
obituary has her name as Kopic.

They had the following children:

According to birth and death records from Armstrong County
Courthouse, Kittaning, Pennsylvania, Alphonso (son) was born and
died in South Mahoning Township and is buried in Dunkard Cemetery.

6. John A. GALENTINE (William A.) was born 1848 in Indiana County, Pennsylvania. He died
1927 and was buried in Pine Grove Cemetery, Rochester Mills, Indiana County,
Pennsylvania.

The paper my dad had listed John's date of birth as 31 Jan 1849. I have copies of
marriage applications from the Indiana County Courthouse that indicate he was born
about 1851. His headstone has 1848 - 1927.

John married (1) Sara Belle MOORE. Sara was born about 1854. She died 23 Jul 1887 and was
buried in Pine Grove Cemetery, Rochester Mills, Indiana County, Pennsylvania.

Sara's headstone says she died on 23 Jul 1888, but both marriage applications for
John's next two wives say former wife died on 23 Jul 1887.

John also married (2) Alice L. VANHORN on 13 Jun 1891. Alice was born about 1856. She died
11 Oct 1891.

Alice's father was Harry A. VanHorn.

John also married (3) Annie K. IRWIN on 25 Mar 1892 in Marion Center, Indiana County,
Pennsylvania. Annie was born 1869 in Indiana County, Pennsylvania. She died 1925 and
was buried in Pine Grove Cemetery, Rochester Mills, Indiana County, Pennsylvania.

They had the following children:

34 M i. Frank IRWIN was born May 1887. He was buried in Oak Hill Cemetery,
Eldred, Pennsylvania.

Mary married Eli J. CAMPBELL. Eli was born 1841. He died 9 Feb 1910 in Canoe Township, Indiana
County, Pennsylvania.

Jefferson County, Pennsylvania.

9. Arthur James GALENTINE (William A.) was born 30 Sep 1858 in Plumville, Indiana County,
Pennsylvania. He died 1 Mar 1930 in Nanty-Glo, Pennsylvania and was buried in Greenwood
Cemetery, Indiana, Indiana County, Pennsylvania.

The paper my dad had listed Arthur's date of birth as 30 Sep 1856. I have copies of
marriage applications from the Indiana County Courthouse that indicate he was born
about 1861. His obituary states that he died at 72 years and 5 months of age, which
would indicate that he was born in 1858. This paper also had him listed as "Arthur S.",
yet the marriage applications have his middle name as "James".

Arthur married (1) Edna Annie (Annie Edna) CAMPBELL on 15 Jan 1880. Edna was born Sep 1860 in
Rochester Mills, Indiana County, Pennsylvania. She died 25 Aug 1902 in Richmond, Indiana
County, Pennsylvania and was buried in Pine Grove Cemetery, Rochester Mills, Indiana County,
Pennsylvania.

Edna's father was Robert Y. Campbell.

They had the following children:

42 F i. Charlotte GALENTINE was born 1877.

Charlotte married (1) Jacob M. SUTTON on 19 Mar 1894 in North
Mahoning Township, Indiana County, Pennsylvania. Jacob was born 1854.

Charlotte also married (2) Hunk WATSON.

21 Mar 1960 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania and was buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Indiana, Indiana
County, Pennsylvania.

Minnie's parents were Henry G. and Elizabeth Cribbs.

County, Pennsylvania. She died 15 Sep 1995 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania.
+49 M viii. James Albert GALENTINE Sr. was born 27 May 1905 and died 27 Aug 1984.
+50 F ix. Larue GALENTINE was born 1908 and died 20 Mar 1948.
51 F x. Sarah Pauline GALENTINE was born 18 Jun 1911 in Richmond, Indiana
County, Pennsylvania. She died 22 Mar 1991 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania.
