ENCOURAGEMENT TO PROPHETS

Prophets today have been accused of being unloving by the majority because of the words we speak. Our brothers and sisters have accused us of being too harsh and unloving when we speak. But I must speak forth the words which He has given me this night or any night. It is the way we are, dearest brothers and sisters of Christ. You must understand the way the office of a prophet works. The words are never well received because they are so often rebuking, or correcting, or warning of impending danger. Don't blame the prophet for the words he speaks, for he or she is just speaking forth the words of the Holy Spirit, and if called by the Holy Spirit, then he cannot hold it back. This is required of us, as it says in Ezekiel, dearest brothers and sisters.

We are not to be muffling or softening the words of the Holy Spirit that comes forth from our lips. If you are called as a prophet, then speak just as the words of the Holy Spirit are spoken into your spirit, and be not afraid to speak the words He has given you.

Do not speak words that have been softened for the hearer's sake, for their life is endangered, and if you do not speak the words that He gives you as they are spoken to you, with fear of reproof, then they are false words. The words of a prophet are never soft and gently put, for who would listen and repent if this were so? When the annointing is on a prophet to speak, then the words may appear harsh or abrasive, or cut to the heart, but that is not the prophet's words, but the words of the Holy Spirit. It is God speaking forth, warning of danger ahead, speaking words of encouragement, or words of correction. They may appear harsh to the hearer, but those who have ears to hear will hear.

A prophet does not enjoy all the people coming against him. No human enjoys that. But it is part of the job, and we cannot speak any other way. So if you wonder why prophets do not speak as a soft loving pastor, then realize that that is not our job, and we are used in a different manner in the body.

So, don't kill the messenger who brings the message to you. It can be devastating to his ministry, when everyone is against him, and if he is a young prophet, you can cause him to not want to speak.

And no, your life will not be easy, and nice and free of troubles. You will be stirring up the enemy if you speak the words of the Holy Spirit as a true prophet of God. It's like stirring up the hornet nest, when you speak the words of truth from the Holy Spirit. The enemy doesn't want you to speak the truth of God's words to the people. He will be angry, believe me.

But do not be as the false prophets, who speak to flatter the ears of the hearers, but speak forth the words which he gives you, so that the blood will not be on your hands. Speak forth as mighty prophets, and if they throw you in prison, or run you out of town for speaking the truth, then so be it. At least you have followed Him, and not been a false prophet, nor spoke forth the flattering words of a false prophet.

So go and read all the accounts in the old and new testaments, and you will see the prophets were never loved by the majority, but rather hated. I have spoken these words from the heart of a prophetess who has been chased and beaten by many, and yet, it does not matter, I can only speak the words that He gives me, no matter how hot the fire gets.

These are words of wisdom from the Holy Spirit in a time of seasoning in the fire.

Much Love in Him,
Gloria Shepherd
