Frequently Asked Questions

Numerous people have directed questions to both me and my website since this sites 'birth' 3 years ago. Below you'll find answers to the most common questions I've received.

Q: You're an animal rights activist, yet you ride, and work with horses. That makes you a hypocrite.

A: Working with animals and fighting for animals does not make a person a hypocrite. I would be a hypocrite if I fought for animal rights, yet ran a factory farm (or something comparable, for example) on the side - but I don't. As a matter of fact, the horse I care for right now was bought from an auction - a place where she could've easily been sold for slaughter. Whenever I ride, the horse is shod so her hooves/legs don't get damaged and I take protective measures for both her and myself. I also only ride during safe conditions - ie: during the winter is a big 'no-no' since she could slip and hurt herself. Next time you want to use the word 'hypocrite', look up the definition first - because you used it incorrectly the first time.

Q: You're an animal activist but ride horses. Horses use leather tack - leather = dead skin. You're a hypocrite.

A: The word 'hypocrite' flies around a lot, doesn't it? Well dear reader, horse tack does not always have to be made from leather! For the record: the saddle I ride in is synthetic (read: not made from animals). The riding boots I use are synthetic also. Synthetics are much better than leather for a few reasons anyway: 1 - it saves animals lives by not killing them for a product. 2 - synthetics don't require oiling and time-consuming maintenance. To clean, you need only a little bit of soap and water and 3 - they wear much better and don't break down like leather does. As a side-note to this: I seem to be getting into animal rights Q & A's here and that isn't my intention because this is not an animal rights website. For questions pertaining to animal rights, please go to the appropriate website (found by going to the main page, than clicking on 'Other Sites by Me!!').

Q: How do you get to interview all of the people you have - are you a reporter or something?

A: A reporter? No. A music fan? A very definate YES!!! How do I get the interviews? Thats simple - I check either music magazines or my favorite musicians personal website to find their contact address (99% of the time, I'm looking for an email address) and I send them an interview request. If they agree, I send out the questions - anywhere from 15 all the way up to 30, depending on the musicians preferences. Than I wait... once I get the completed interview back, I post it.

Q: What qualifies you to give horse help?

A: The same thing that qualifies you to read my horse articles! If you read them, chances are that you're a horse lover, or want to know more information about them. Although I am not an instructor, I consider myself very knowledgable about horses - I've had 6+ years of experience around them. If I can help at least one person gain more insight, I'm happy and have done my part! Please remember to read my DISCLAIMER

Q: How often can I expect website updates?

A: It depends. Theres no sure answer to that simply because if I have something to add, I'll update - if not, I won't. Just be sure to check my Updates page for the latest!

Q: Your site sucks!

A: Funny how the people who leave that comment rarely post their website address. Is it because A: They don't have one? or B: They have a website but are too scared that I might 'critique' back? Hmmmm... If you have a certain problem with my website, please email me and be specific so I can fix the problem if I see it necessary. On the other hand, if you're posting and adding your comments (or emailing me) simply because you want to be sarcastic and immature, you're wasting your time. Any comments such as the above are immediately deleted from the guestbook, or not responded to via email.
