Jeff Blando

Born in Flint Michigan and currently residing in Orlando Florida, this long-haired SLAUGHTER guitarist fears being trapped in a place where theres no music. When he's not out riding his custom Harley, or inside cooking, you can either find him out on tour, producing music or playing basketball & football. Below you'll read the interview I did with Jeff on Jan. 31st.

Is there a Jeff Blando imposter out there?? Why is 2001 being hard on SLAUGHTERs guitarist? Was Jeff *bad* on the Power to the People tour?? Read on to find out..... (My questions are in red. Jeffs answers are in orange.)

1.) Lets start off with the basics: How has 2001 been treating you so far? and what what are SLAUGHTERs plans for the year?

Well 2001 was great until I broke my leg and ankle. Now I'm going through a lot of therapy but it's coming along very well. As far as SLAUGHTER, We are scheduling a great tour for this summer.

2.) Any advice for aspiring guitar players?

Practice your a$$ off, write, write, write and stick to what your heart tells you.

3.) How did it feel to be the first member of SLAUGHTER to do a METAL SLUDGE 20 Questions Interview? and what is your opinion of the website?

Well to be honest, I never answered the questions. Honestly I can't believe someone had enough balls to answer them and say they were me. I guess they had nothing else going on in their life worth doing. The sights a gas though.

4.) Over the years, have you been fortunate enough to work with some of the people you've admired, musically?

Yes, All of the rock never stop tours have had a lot of great musicians out there playing their butts off. Such as Ted Nugent, Paul Rodgers, Ray Gillan of BADLANDS and right now I'm engineering and recording one of the most rocking bands called SEVENDUST.

5.) If you could look back and pick 1 person who gave you the drive to do what you do, who would it be?

I would have to say my Mother. She was always very supported of my playing. Her favorite song is Whole lotta Rosie by AC/DC.

6.) As a guitar player, what's the hardest thing for you to accomplish?

Self discipline in my writing.

7.) In the late 2000 interview I did with Bill Leverty, when asked about special memories working with SLAUGHTER, Bill said 'Touring with Mark and the guys was great. We have known each other for years and we've done several shows together.' What is your favorite SLAUGHTER/FIREHOUSE memory?

All the FIREHOUSE guys and I stayed after a show and partied with a bunch of fans and got pretty Trashed. We did a lot of drinking. Michael is as Crazy as me; they're all great people.

8.) On SLAUGHTERWEB, you were quoted as saying 'Seeing my daughter Koddi for the first time 'was your most cherished moment. What 1 word can describe that feeling?

Joy!!!!!!! That moment is unforgettable.

9.) When you log-on to the internet, besides your email account, what webpage do you visit the most?

I mainly get on line to do online bill pay. Other than that I check out a Bands web sight that I recorded a while back and are still working with today. There called SKRAPE. Check'em out they really rock. Their CD will be out mid-March. (Skrapes Official Website)

10.)I read that you have a custom Harley (H.D. rocks!!!). A lot of bike owners don't like other people to mess around with their ride. Did you do all of the customization yourself, or did you take it in?

I built it all by my little 'ol self. It RULES !!!

11.) The 2000 P.T.T.P. tour was awesome!! Do you have any stories to share?

I'de be telling on my self then wouldn't I ???????? What did you do on most of your down-time?Recuperate

12.) What is the weirdest thing a fan has ever given to you as a gift? (saying 'inspiration' doesn't count, haha).

A T-shirt with,(pause) I forget what was written on it. and a can of Whip Cream

13.) Where do you see yourself in 10 years? What about SLAUGHTER?

Hopefully I'll be able to keep on recording up and coming artist. I love to create music with other talented musicians. It's a great challenge as well as a great satisfaction. Especially when you get to hear the finished product, As for SLAUGHTER, We'll be around forever. Were too wild and crazy not to be.

14.) What's in your CD player tonight?

Demos I'm burning for SKRAPE !

15.) If you could tell readers 1 thing that they didn't already know about you, what would it be?

I didn't answer the 20 questions on METAL SLUDGE. Will the real Jeff Blando stand up ??? I think the sights a Riot though. Sludge on!

Well...there you have it. Thanks a lot Jeff for doing this interview!!
