Remote sensing allows a scientist to gather data from a distance.
The technique employs such devices as cameras, radar or sonar systems,
radiometers, seismographs, gravimeters, magnetometers,
and scintillation counters. Moreover, remote sensing systems, such as
aerial photography, satellite imagery, and radar are used by researchers to analyze
many problems, and the infomation is shared by many researchers from different
disciplines (Wilkie and Finn 1996).
