What Must I DoTo Be Saved

OUR MISSION

"We will preach and teach the Word to any prison inmate, in   an effort to bring all inmates to the feet of Jesus Christ and we will direct them to any program that will ease their return into society."

Our Leadership

/ga/RRCOC/images/grady.tif (154834 bytes)Hello my name is Bro.Grady Broadnex and I have been working with the River Road Church of Christ Prison Ministry which has been affiliated with the Dougherty County Jail  in Albany Georgia, for the past two and one half years. It has been an unbelievably rewarding and exciting ministry. It is so good to know that God can touch those who society regards as the outcasts or untouchables. God has blessed me to be able to witness and teach inmates on a regular basis, some come looking for prayers, some ask for help for their familiy, but many come just seeking christian fellowship. If we can put aside for a moment all the pre-concieved ideas we have about prisoners, we  are left with just another soul who is seeking a knowledge of the Truth.  The Prison Ministry is truly a blessing from God. Please continue to pray for us that God would enable us to continue to bring others to the feet of Jesus.

The Prison Ministry Team

The Prison Ministry of the River Road church of Christ visits with the inmates of the Dougherty County Jail at least once monthly. We prepare and teach classes  on Sunday mornings and Sunday evenings. Our ladies team led by sisters Betty Wiggins, Joanne Moore, Mary Clark and Eliza Horton teach  the female inmates on a regular basis. The male inmates at this facility are taught by Bros. Grady Broadnex and Eddie Moore. At least once a month those members of our team who have badges and are authorized to enter the jail are requested to accompany those members of the team who do not yet have a badge. This year our goals are  to distribute some 300 bibles to the prison inmates and  to enroll all inmates we teach in a bible correspondence course.
As inmates prepare to return to society we direct them to those social services  that can assist them and their families  and help to make their transition successful.

Hard Work is Rewarded

The hard work and dedication of Sister Betty Wiggins to  the inmates at the Doughrty County Jail was rewarded with a grant of $750.00 by Procter   and Gamble. This grant will go a long way in helping us to realize our goal of providing each inmate at the Dougherty County Jail with his or her own copy of the bible.
