Actors
Thomas Sean Connery
Date of Birth: August 25, 1930
Place of Birth: Edinburgh, Scotland
After dropping out of school at age 13, he joined the Royal Navy. He had
many small jobs during the 50s. He came quite close to winning the Mr.
Universe pageant. This got him a part in the South Pacific chorus, and
he starred in various theater productions. In 1962, he was cast as Bond.
He appeared in the movie, Dr. No. Tired of being type-cast as Bond, in
1972 Connery moved on. He won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor
in the late 80s, for his role in The Untouchables. His first marriage
was to Diane Cilento. They had a son, Jason Connery. He is currently
married to Micheline Roquebrune.

George Lazenby
Date of Birth: September 5, 1939
Place of Birth: Goulbourn, Australia
In 1969 he replaced Connery as Bond in "On Her Majesty's Secret
Service". Lazenby came to Britain and became a very well known model,
with no acting experience whatsoever. He auditioned for hundreds of
parts all around the world, and did badly due to his lack of experience.
His biggest problem was that he wasn't Connery. So he became Bond, only
to play him in one movie. After playing Bond, Lazenby acted in a few TV
movies and in the early 90s had some minor parts in mainstream movies.

Roger Moore
Date of Birth: October 14, 1927
Place of Birth: London, England
Moore signed with MGM in 1953 after serving in the army. Roger Moore was
already quite well known before playing Bond because of his role in The
Saint between 1962 and 1969. Moore was actually asked to play Bond
before Lazenby, but the film was delayed and Moore decided to star in a
TV series instead. Although the series did well in Europe, it failed in
the US and was canceled. Moore starred in a total of 8 Bond movies
before Dalton appeared. Although Moore has appeared in many Bond movies,
his post-Bond career has not been quite as successful as Connery's.
Moore's Bond movies:
A View to a Kill (1985)
Octopussy (1983)
For Your Eyes Only (1981)
Moonraker (1979)
The Spy Who Loved Me (1977)
The Man With The Golden Gun (1974)
Live and Let Die (1973)

Timothy Dalton
Date of Birth: March 21, 1946
Place of Birth: Whales
Timothy Dalton brought his classic style to the Bond Movies in The
Living Daylights and License to Kill. When Moore retired from the role
after A View To A Kill, it looked like Brosnan would become the fourth
Bond, but when a contract dispute appeared, Dalton was picked for the
job. Dalton tried to be the 007 Ian Fleming wrote about, a more direct
Bond. This came as a shock to Moore fans who quite liked Moore's smooth
and laid-back approach to the character. In 1987's The Living Daylights,
Dalton brought a truly romantic element back to the series that was last
seen with Lazenby and Kara Milovy. In License to Kill, Dalton's final
mission as Bond, the series changed enormously by turning the mission to
avenging Felix's attacker. This was the first Bond film to be marked
with an R rating because of the violence in the scenes. In 1994, he
announced that he would not return as Bond. Before beginning his career
as Bond, Dalton had acted in many British television series with his
career beginning in the 60’s.

Pierce Brosnan
Date of Birth: May 16, 1953
Place of Birth: Ireland
Pierce Brosnan started his Bond career with his first movie "GoldenEye",
which brought 007 back into theaters. He attended drama school and later
starred in British theater productions. His chance came when he got a
part in the Manions of America. In 1982 Brosnan was cast as Remington
Steele and which got the attention of Bond producers. After his act in
Remington Steele, Bond film producer Albert Broccoli (sadly deceased)
signed him to play 007 in The Living Daylights. But with all the
publicity the announcement produced, Remington Steele's ratings pulled
the series back from hiatus and the show's producers opted to sign
Brosnan for a few more episodes. So Timothy Dalton was chosen for the
part. So far Brosnan has starred in two Bond movies.
