Spy vs. Spy was started as an anti-Castro cartoon by Antonio Prohias in the early 1960s. He came to the MAD offices in New York with nothing more than the want for a job and some artwork. Well, needless to say, Bill Gaines ate it up. He decided to hire Prohias and it payed off gratefully. The Spy cartoons can now be viewed on MAD TV
