When we lay down at night
we take so much for granted.
While we close our eyes and go to sleep
some where another soldier is planted.

Planted in the line of fire
placed in harms way.
This is not just a job to them
it is what they live for everyday.

Everyday they give of themselves
they put their own needs aside.
They quickly come to this nations aid
and they do it with an awesome pride.

“No greater love hath a man
that he lay down his own life for a friend”.
No truer words have ever been written
or will ever be uttered again.

So today we honor those who have served
who have fought and those who have died.
We honor those brave men and women
and we do so with much love and pride.

May God continue to bless America
and all of those who defend.
I am proud to be an American
and will always call soldiers my friend!
