PREVAILING PRAYER

We can open our heart as to a friend. Keep your wants, your joys, your sorrows, your cares, and your fears before God. You cannot burden Him. Nothing that concerns us is too small for Him to notice. God is too good to withhold any good thing from them that walk uprightly. (Ps. 84:11 pg. 12) God answers our prayers for our best good, as we would want them answered if we could see all things as He does. This may be why we do not get what we ask for when we ask for it.

There are several conditions to answered prayer such as:

1. We must feel our need of Him and hunger and thirst for His help. Isa.44:3, Matt. 5:6.

2. We must ask. Matt. 7:7, Rom. 8:32

3. Confession must be specific. Lev 5:5

4. If we cling to any known sin the Lord will not hear us. (Prov. 28:9)

Thus we must endeavor to right all wrongs.

5. We must have faith. Heb. 11:6 Mark 11:24

6. We must recognize that He knows best and trust Him.

7. We must forgive others. And be Loving. Matt. 6:12 Jude 20,21

8. We must persevere, be diligent. (instant Rom. 12:12) Col 4:2

9. We must be thankful Phil 4:6

10. We must not neglect secret prayer. Matt. 6:1-15.

We must do all we can to bring about this good. Jesus has promised us aid but not apart from our effort. We must also act in accordance with our prayers.
