"Alex??" I let out but it became barely audible. But amazingly enough, he heard it. He looked at me and stood up. I walked towards him.
"I-.. Is.. Is it you??" I asked him. April was looking at me as if I was crazy. He muttered under his breath, 'fan'. I looked confused.
"Alex??" He snapped his head towards mine and took his sunglasses off. I covered my mouth with my hands then smiled.
"It is you."
"do I know you??" He asked cautiously.
"You don't remember, do you?" I asked as my voice saddened. He looked as if he were thinking hard.
"I'm sorry, I don't." I looked back at April. She was looking at me then smiling and softly saying,
"Alexander James McLean…"
"okay, what's with the full name??" He laughed.
"It's Krista..." He looked into my eyes. Then slowly smiled.
"Krista……" Then he suddenly realized.
"Krista Lee??" I nodded happily. He smiled and twirled me around in a hug.
"you buffed up, AJ." He laughed.
"And you're not the little girl I remember…"
"Definitely not.." I laughed as I looked down at my chest. He laughed, knowing what I was doing.
"Oh.. Um.. AJ. This is my best friend, April, you might remember her too."
"April?? April Davis??"
"Oh my god!! It's you, AJ!!" He hugged her also. One of the guys behind AJ cleared his throat.
"Oh sorry guys, Krista, April, this is Nick and Brian. My bandmates." Greetings were exchanged.
"Bandmates??" April asked.
"You didn't hear??" He asked slowly.
"We heard you were trying to start up a band, but we didn't hear from you, so we didn't know what happened." I nodded in Agreement.
"Oh well, we did. Our name is the Backstreet Boys."
"That's you?!?!" April asked.
"Yeah, you heard of us??" "we heard the music, and know some songs, but we never imagined it was little Alex McLean.." April laughed.
"Little Alex McLean??" He laughed,"I was always bigger than you too."
"Yeah but, you were tiny.." I said laughing.
"I'll show you tiny…" He laughed but was soon interrupted.
"Any way, we were just about to go to lunch, would you like to join us??" The one introduced as Brian said politely. I looked at April, and I could tell she wanted to.
"Why not. Sure, we'll go. But I have got to call Julie first. I promised her before she left, I'd call and tell her where we were."
"Invite her too." Brian said. I smiled.
"Thanks." I pulled out my cell and dialed her number. A few seconds later she answered.
"Hello??"
"Julez. Hey, um.. April and I met some old friends, and we're going out for lunch with them, wanna join??" She was taken back by this,
"Oh uh.. wow.. Sure.. where to?"
"Hold on I'll ask." I covered the mouthpiece.
"Guys?" I whispered. They diverted their attention to me.
"Yeah?" AJ asked.
"She wants to know where to." AJ smiled devilishly. The guys groaned. April asked them what was wrong. They explained. He smiled and said,
"McDonalds on the corner of 21st and main." I smiled and told Julie.
"Sure, I'll meet you there in 15??"
"Sure. See ya then Julez."
"Alright. Bye." I hung up and walked over. You could tell that Nick and April had been flirting. As soon as I had walked back, Brian started a convo with me.
"So Krista, may I ask how a lady would know this big goof?" Brian joked, then AJ butt in.
"Don't be flirting with her… This is my baby girl we're talking too!!" He said as I rolled my eyes and punched his shoulder. He cried out in a painfully fake agony. I laughed and said,
"Actually, he was like the big brother that we never had when we were kids. He lived just down the road from us." Brian nodded. I looked up at AJ who had his arm around my shoulder and looking as if to say, 'I know, I'm perfect' I rolled my eyes and laughed. April was talking to Nick. Nick started off by saying,
"So April, how old are you and Krista?"
"Actually, Krista just turned 19 last month, and I turned 19 In April."
"is that why your names April??"
"No…" She giggled.
"Why is it then.."
"I really don't know.."
"Oh." There was a small silence.
"So do you think I could see you again sometime?" He asked, hoping she'd say yes.
"I believe there's a possibility…"
"well……*smile* to do that, I'd need your number wouldn't I?"
"That would help. It's 329-4920." He grabbed his wallet, took out a piece of paper and asked if she had a pen.
"Sure." She grabbed a pen from her purse and handed it to him.
"Can you repeat that?" He asked.
"329-4920." He slowly wrote it down then handed the pen back to her. She put it away.
"Guys, we're supposed to meet Julie at McDonalds in 15." I said finally remembering.
"Then we better get going now shouldn't we?" AJ said smiling.
"Yup. You guys lead the way, we'll follow." April said.
"Okay guys… See you in a few!!" I replied chipper. We all walked out to our cars. I hit the unlock button, and the trunk button on the alarm remote, we put our shopping bags in the trunk and raced into the car.. The guys also went into a black BMW. They started out and we followed them.
I slipped my sunglasses on as April looked over at me. I saw her smirking out of the corner of my eye. Finally after about a minute it began to bug me, so I said,
"WHAT?!?" She laughed.
"He looks good doesn't he?"
"Who AJ?" I asked playing dumb.
"No the pope. Yes AJ."
"Oh, yeah, he does."
"Talk to him…"
"April.. A hot guy like him, HAS to have a girlfriend. And think of how many one night stands he must have had on the road."
"That doesn't matter. If you were to go out with him, I'm sure he'd be completely loyal."
"April, screaming girls of all ages, throwing themselves at him, saying they wanna bear his children. Do you think he'd stay loyal?!?"
"I-.. I dunno." I smiled as she was thinking.
"Don't hurt yourself." She looked at me shocked, then swatted my shoulder.
"I was kidding!!!"
"Yeah right!"
"I'm serious. And Nicole says worse things to you!!"
"True." We popped in the Ricky martin CD, then switched it to "The cup of life" and started singing.

Nick sat in the Back, while AJ was in the passenger seat looking out the window.
"Nick, what'd you think of them?" Brian asked. AJ looked at Brian and smiled, then looked at Nick.
"Krista was nice, but April caught my attention."
"we could tell. Frick?" AJ replied. Nick shot him a playful glare.
"Yeah I agree, Krista and April were nice, but they weren't my type.."
"Why's that??" AJ asked suddenly defensive, and protective of the two girls. Brian laughed.
"I dunno, Krista's nice but she's got this outgoing attitude, And April's nice too, but she also has this upbeat attitude, while I like calm girls. Who can be playful when she feels like it. They're perfect for you guys.." AJ looked ashamed at what Brian just said
"Date one of my best friends?!?"
"Why not??"
"For one, she'd say no. And secondly, if it didn't work out, we would of ruined a great friendship!!"
"That doesn't mean you couldn't go on a date. Then you could decide what to do from there!!" Nick said after a while. AJ shrugged and looked out the window. Brian and Nick looked at each other and smiled. A few minutes later, they were at McDonalds. Krista and April pulled in behind them.
