Went forth today not as me
as another with long ago years;
I wanted to try to be able to see
without all of my problems and tears.

So transforming myself to the child
I once used to know and be seen;
at once I found myself wild and mild
for all of the beauty around in a scene.

The squirrels in play upon the ground
and birds flying and singing high above;
all this and much more I in myself found
learning to be at peace and myself to love.

I'd forgotten these things in the world today
to remember how much fun to be a part;
of each and every sound and child at play
again to rejuvenate my dormant heart.

Thus I'm thankful for the Master's touch
to allow me this chance to grasp a hand;
for to me has He given so very much
to allow me now as a friend of His to stand.
