At school the principal has found a book that Ami has forgotten and give it back to her. He ask if there is something on her mind because she usually don't forget a book. Usagi overhear their conversation. The principal also ask Ami about her helping out some of the bad student. Usagi shocked. Then he ask Ami to tell him if they get in her way. But Ami said that even he is the principal but he shouldn't say things like that. He explain that she should concentrate on her studies.

After that, Naru come and spot Usagi and ask about Usagi's promise to treat her to pizza.

Ami is sitting in a park. Mamoru come and ask what happened. Then they talk for a while about Ami's dream and Ami figure out that Mamoru hate shots. Ami laugh and start to feel better. She plan to swim before studying with her friends. As Ami is running off, Mamoru say that she is very brilliant the way she is now. Kaolinite is in the air and think that a genius girl must have a pure heart.

Ami doesn't see someone else in pool, so see swim around. But Michiru is also in the pool and after they swim gracefully underwater, she ask Ami if she was from the ocean in her precious life. Ami say that she doesn't know and Michiru ask her to race. While they're racing Michiru think that Ami is fast. Ami and Michiru touch the wall in the same time. Ami say that it is a tie. But Michiru ask Ami why did she slow down, and if Ami think that it makes her happy. Ami say sorry and run. Haruka who watch them tell Michiru that she had made Ami cry. Haruka explain that Ami isn't confident on herself and just want to become friends, so she shouldn't tease her. Michiru explain to Haruka that she just want to say to compete all out, but she feel sorry for Ami.

Ami feel depressed about herself. The other's girl is studying in Rei's house. When Ami come, they rush to her to get help. But Usagi quickly push them away and say that they should do it with their own power. Everyone is shocked to hear this from Usagi. And she said again that she won't forgive if anyone get in Ami's way. They're  shocked again. Usagi then say that all Ami has to do is study. Ami is shocked to hear this, and said she has forgotten something and leave. Usagi notice there are tears in Ami's eyes. She also say that she forget something and run off. Usagi is worried because she think that she said something wrong.

Ami is disappointed, even Usagi said only studying about her. Then Haruka come with her motorcycle and say that Michiru want a rematch, she offer Ami for a ride. But Ami prefer to walk. Luna and Artemis are walking and spot Ami. Luna is after her.

Artemis has found Usagi and tell her that Ami is in the sports club. Meanwhile Ami and Michiru race. Ami think that this is her first time to meet someone that fast. She then realize that she is trying that hard not because she doesn't want to lose, but just because she don't want to run away again. They finished in a tie. Ami say thank you to Michiru and Michiru offer her to swim again sometime.

When Ami is going to swim again, the diamon appear and attack her. Usagi and Artemis arrive. Usagi then transform. Sailormoon tell Kaolinite to stop. Meanwhile the diamon get Ami heart crystal. Sailormoon cry and ask them to give it back, because Ami is her very very important friend.

Fortunately it isn't the talisman. Tuxedo Kamen appear and throw a rose to Kaolinite and said that he won't forgive someone who damages the pure heart of a young girl. The diamon fight Tuxedo Kamen and Sailormoon. But Sailormoon finish it with her Moon Spiral Heart Attack. Then she return the heart crystal back to Ami. Ami recover and say thank you.

Later Usagi say sorry to Ami. But Ami say that she was just depressed and because of Sailormoon she can recover. Mamoru ask Ami if she feel better now. Ami say yes to him and say she won't escape anymore. Usagi notice that Ami and Mamoru are in good mood, so she said to Ami that Tuxedo Kamen is her. Ami tease Usagi by saying she won't lose. Sailormoon keep saying no. Then Ami say that they can't do that forever. They must study.
