3/4/99 - Boss pondering selection

Arsene Wenger has yet to decide on whether or not Tony Adams will play at the weekend. Adams has declared himself fit for the match at the Dell but the boss will decide after watching him in training on Friday morning. Steve Bould is on stand by but a place on the bench may be the best he can hope for and Emmanuel Petit is out as he starts his four match ban. John Lukic will be on the bench following Alex Manninger's broken arm which will keep him out for the season. On paper the Gunners are clear favorites for the three points but Southampton are fighting for their Premiership lives and should not be taken lightly.

3/4/99 - Parlour wins award

Arsenal midfielder Ray Parlour has won the Carling player of the month award for March. Parlour has been instrumental in The Gunners' title and FA Cup pursuit over the last month, with the 26-year-old hitting a rich vein of goalscoring form; hitting the back of the net four times during March. It also coincides with his call up to the England squad.

Meanwhile, former Arsenal legend David O'Leary won the managers award, after guiding Leeds United to six successive wins.

30/3/99 - Rival Kean bid

It has been reported that long time Arsenal target has been subject to a £9 million offer from Glasgow Celtic. However at the moment Wolves officials are rubbisinh the reports. IT seems the rumours have stemed from a mystery caller claiming to represent Celtic. "The first call came when I was in Holland scouting for players and then another when I was at the training ground. The moment I asked for the caller's name the line went dead. I think it was someone just trying to be clever. "If Celtic were interested in Robbie they would not have to engage in such tactics, but there has been no contact from them and they have no history of spending that sort of money on players."

30/3/99 - Arsenal set to quit Highbury

The Gunners quitting Highbury has moved closer after buying a patch of waste land near Kings Cross Station. It is understood that The Gunners have paid an undisclosed sum on at least five acres of land after admitting defeat to increase Highbury's capacity. The club have been battling local residents to re-build the ground for the past couple of years without any success. And it has now emerged that the Gunners have been holding secret talks with Camden Council in a bid to agree a deal. While a spokesman for property consultants Healey and Baker is alleged to have confirmed that Kings Cross is favourite to be their next home. The Gunners are looking at a state of the art stadium which could hold around 70,000 fans almost double what Highbury can hold. The club are looking at incorporating a number of business and leisure facilities at the stadium so they could reap highly lucrative spin off's.

30/3/99 - Big transfer boost

Arsenal fans have been handed a massive boost with the news that Dennis Bergkamp is staying at Highbury, and he expects the other foreign boys at the club to do likewise. Bergkamp has revealed that he is still really enjoying life at Highbury, and he says he fully intends to see out the remainder of his current contract at the club. He also believes that the other foreign players at the club will stay till the end of their contracts, and he said: "Nothing has changed in the thoughts of the foreign players. The players that I know are really enjoying themselves at Arsenal and want to be successful."

19/3/99 - Striker on the way?

Long time Arsenal target Lee Hughes of WBA will either sign for us on thursday (transfer deadline) or never. Hughes is the top scorer in all leagues with over 30 goals and he cost WBA only £400 000. His price now is thought to be about £10M, with many premier sides thought to be interested. Personally i cant see it happenningg to be honest. What with Anelka, Bergkamp, Kanu, and Diawara, and not forgetting Wreh either.

19/3/99 - Italiens still interested in Manu

I told you it wouldn't go away...Lazio and Roma have AGAIN been linked with a move for Manu Petit. That is all and I've decided to close this boring story unless something really significant happens.

19/3/99 - Arsenal 2 - 0 Coventry - Title race still on (report)

19/3/99 - preview Vs Coventry

Both sides are desperate for points at either end of the table so this should prove to be a full blooded affair. It looks like Arsenal will field the same side that beat Everton last week 2-0. Petit and Vieira starting in central midfiled. Steve Bould, Stephen Hughes and Matthew Upson are still injured but this does not effect the starting line up.

19/3/99 - Petit mystery

Petit has now spoken out of his wish to leave Arsenal he was quoted as saying: "I'm totally fed up with what has been happening. I've had enough and I won't change my mind. "If I'm going to be shown the yellow card every time I open my mouth or make a mistake, while others get away with much more, I'm wasting my time here." Petit's agent is quick to deny allergations saying: "It's crossed his mind to think about next year but at this moment in time it is nonsense to say he is going to quit anything." And Arsene Wenger added: "I am convinced that Emmanuel will be here next season. The sending off left him feeling very down and depressed, that's because his a professional."

17/3/99 - Volz deal now off

Despite reports yeterday that he had signed it now seems he has not and will not. Wenger has spoken of his dissapointment. I don't know what is going on!

17/3/99 - Petit staying put

It seems that AW has talken to Manu and has talked him into staying. Wenger had this to say "Manu will not be leaving the club in the summer and he is happy to stay with." Well all is well that ends well, I hope.
