- W3C Style Guide - Why Buttons
- If there is a most Frequently Asked Question for kids, it has to be "WHY?"! This page asks you to "Imagine a web in which, assiduously over the years, patient teachers had filled in the "why" buttons with pointers to explanations?.." It then describes how these buttons should be used on children's web pages and how the referenced information should be organized.
- Introduction to HTML
- This is the best beginners' HTML tutorial I have ever seen and it's FREE. It assumes you know nothing about HTML and goes through the necessary basics so that you can competently code a simple web page by the end, even if you've never programmed before. The instructional text is easy to understand and very engaging, with each content point clearly demonstrated. The best parts, however, are the interactive quizzes and practice excercises at the end of each section. It takes two to three hours to complete the entire beginning tutorial, but you can do it in several sessions if you don't want to do it in one sitting. Anyone, child or adult, who wants to learn HTML should definitely check out this site!
