"I lived one summer in Dobie dorm and made friends with 4 bright-eyed freshmen including Renee. We had an amazing summer. It was a neat time - I have wonderful memories of hanging out with her, laughing and talking. We all used to sneak up to the 26th floor and drink beer and look at the city lights and laugh and talk and just be real. I left Texas suddenly just as the bunch of us were preparing to lease a big house together and when I returned grad school got too busy and we all lost contact. "Hello. My name is Tina Vega. I've been trying to figure out some possible way to get in touch with Renee Zellweger. I knew Renee back in 1991. A friend of mine at the time really loved the band Pariah, so we would go to meet them in Dallas. I got to meet and talk with Renee numerous times(she was dating Sims Ellison at the time). I never forgot her because she was the type who never forgot you, very down to earth.
I saw 'Jerry Maguire' and was in shock. Ha!! But I wasn't surprised. I was glad to see someone who was always so friendly and fun to be around make it. Anyways, I just recently learned of Sims' death. I took quite a few pictures everytime I went to meet the band. I have one really good picture of Renee and Sims together. I would like to get it to her somehow.
I also have a picture of him in this big hat that I called the "Uncle Sims" hat. Ha!!! I know she would like to have these. If you know of any possible way I could reach her, please let me know.
