Notes on Henry Greer son of Nancy Hobbs and Henry Greer:

Henry GREER married Lucy Bonner in Walton County, Ga on 2 Apr 1835. I believe that this might be a son of Henry Greer and Nancy Hobbs, who had 5 boys and 2 daughters born in Greene Co, Ga.
Nancy died about 1840. Henry married Polly Nichols in 1845 in Greene Co and later relocated to Muscogee Co, where Polly died, after the 1850 census. If you have any info on these families, will be happy to exchange data. I have much from James the Immigrant, thru 10 generations, of most of Aquilla Greer, Jr and Elizabeth Bandy descendants. THanks
Sorry, computer was disconnected from the net. Anyway, I was writing that the major flooding was between Lake Pontchartrain and the Mississippi River. Hopefully, she only had storm damage.
Check the website Katrina.msnbc.com occasionally for her name, also.
I looked and could not find a Bea O'Quin.
Could she have gone by another spelling of her name?

Dear List,
Good News ! Bea evacuated to her sister's in Baton Rouge. Her son and grandson have returned to their homes and Bea may have as well by now. Her home suffered minor damage as did that of her son. So it seems all will be well and her cousin will let her know that so many were concerned about her.

I happened to remember that she mentioned her cousin and where he lived so I called them and this was their report.

Note: "About a year and a half ago I spoke with you about doing research on Robert Greer who was killed in the civil war. He is an ancestor to Rusty Greer the Texas Ranger baseball player. I'm happy to report a major break through with my search. Mrs. Bertie O'Quin paid a genealogist seeking the children of Henry Greer and Nancy Hobbs.
Henry is the son of William, the grandson of Aquilla Jr. the great grandson of Aquilla who died in Greene, Co. Ga.
It turns out Robert is one of Henry's sons. This information was obtained by the records of the Hobbs family." (Melisa Greer Shreve, Texas, honeebe123@aol.com>, July 1999.)
