J. R. R. Tolkien

Now a major motion picture starring Elijah Wood, Sir Ian McKellen, and Liv Tyler

With more than 90 million copies sold, the trilogy of the Lord of the Rings is one of the best selling and most loved of all books in history.  In the first novel, a whopping 500 pages, the heir of the famous Bilbo Baggins, Frodo, is given the famous Ring of Power (My precious...) by Bilbo and thus becomes the Ring Bearer.  It is up to this courageous hobbit to take the Ring to the only place it can be unmade, deep within the reaches of the enemy Sauron.  Despite its length, the breadth of the writing and descriptions is captivating and the pages fly by.  As millions have learned before, Tolkien is a master whose art has yet to be excelled.

"Three Rings for the Elven-kings under the sky.
Seven for the Dwarf-lords in their halls of stone,
Nine for Mortal Men doomed to die,
One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne
In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.
One Ring to rule them all. One Ring to find them,
One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them

In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie."
