The Folk Keeper

Main Book Review Page

Franny Billingsley

In this spell-binding story of Corinna, a Folk Keeper, readers are awed by the beautiful prose.  Corinna is a foundling, and has changed her appearance and name to become a boy named Corin.  As Corin, she can become a Folk Keeper, a gatekeeper of sorts who must control the mischievious and powerful Folk who seek to wreak havoc on the households they live beneath, in caverns.  She is brought to Marblehaugh Park Manor by the Lord who dies shortly after asking her compliance with her wishes.  There she must try and control the dangerous Folk who paralyzed the last Folk Keeper.  Rich descriptions, grand characterization and a captivating story all contribute to the readability of this book and its popularity.
