Its been more than ten years after Agent Clarice Starling first met Hannibal Lecter, and she's heard very little from him since his escape. Suddenly she is involved in a botched raid on a known drug dealer and her career is in the balance. Lecter sends her another letter, trying to cheer her spirits, and suddenly, her career is saved by the powers that be, the politicians who really run America. Pulling the strings is the maniac, one of Lecter's first victims (who survived, obviously) Mason Verger. His desire is to see Lecter suffer as he has suffered since his run in with the psychiatrist, and he has the means to see such a grotesque event. Starling must fight to save Lecter from such a terrible end, and in doing so, must look deep within herself to find out the nature and future of their relationship. "Did you ever think, Clarice, why the philistines don't understand you? It's because you're the answer to Samson's riddle: You are the honey in the lion."
