The Works of Tennessee Williams |
|
By the age of 34, Williams was a well-known figure to the public, mostly because of the success of his play, The Glass Menagerie. He later won the Pulitzer Prize for A Streetcar Named Desire, and then welcomed even greater fame as both plays were made into motion pictures. He later won another Pulitzer, the second for Cat on A Hot Tin Roof. As a playwright, and particularly, a Southern playwright, his works moved the entire genre onto another level. |
