THE GOOD NEWS
When you want color, just to to Dr. Goodies' page and pick your color. Insert the color number into this code (COLOR = "#_______") and you're good to go!
THE BAD NEWS
In case anybody forgot to tell you, when you decide on a color background for your page, you're going to find that MOST graphics are made for white backgrounds. I thought a colored background would be easier to work on because my eyes see a slight glare on white backgrounds.
As a result, I found that most graphics when put onto a color background have a white frame around them which I don't particularly like. So you need to move on to choosing your graphics before you lock yourself into a color background (and take a wild guess at my next topic).
HOWEVER, if you're like me and prefer a color background, there is hope. Dr. Goodies tells you how to get rid of those white backgrounds by using a program called PaintShop which you can download. And I'm sure that (after a trip to the liquor store), I'll eventually get around to trying this.
