|
This just in from Of Montreal HQ:
The release of Aldhil's Arboretum has been pushed back until late summer/early fall. However, we will still be touring the entire country in April, and plan to have with us a special, tour-only, full length CD. We will also debut a bunch of songs from the new record. We'll post tour dates as they get confirmed, as well as the final release date for the record.
The release date for Of Montreal's next album, Aldhil's Arboretum, is now confirmed. It will be released by Kindercore Records on April 9, 2002.
The Of Montreal General Store's copies of the new split 7" on Jonathon Whiskey Records are now all reserved and no more are available at this time. If there is a cancellation on one of those reservations, we will post availabilities on the General Store page. So check back there often.
Updated show dates for December and January are listed at the bottom of the page. The Dec. 7 show in Miami is part of a huge event called "Playtime", created by the Alter Ego Scribbles Arts Foundation. Trans Am, Oxes, and 2 local bands will be playing, along with Of Montreal. The event will also incorporate a multi-media art show, including visual art, puppeteering, anime, photography, and conceptual art. Contact information is listed below.
The Of Montreal General Store is now open for business!! You can order Of Montreal CDs and vinyl and use Paypal for secure online credit card payments. In the future, we'll have t-shirts and other Of Montreal merch you'll only find here, so stay tuned.
Just arrived -- the new UK split 7" with the Late B.P. Helium, from Jonathan Whiskey records. This 7" has a limited pressing of 250 copies, and we have only a few. To reserve a copy, e-mail aldhilsarboretum@yahoo.com. These singles are available on a first-come first-serve basis. See the General Store for prices and shipping information.
Just announced -- two Of Montreal shows in Florida, in Tallahassee and Miami, on December 1 and 7, respectively.

An upcoming benefit concert for Jill Carnes, an Athens, GA musician and artist, will feature a solo performance by Of Montreal's Kevin Barnes. The benefit will be held on Thursday, November 8 at the Flicker Theater in Athens. Also performing at the concert will be Marshmallow Coast, The Late B.P. Helium, Matthew Johnson & Friends, and Lovers.
Hello everyone! It's been quite awhile since our last update. Of Montreal are currently in the studio working on their next album, Aldhil's Arboretum.
A brand new Of Montreal website is in the works, and it should be up online in the coming month. The new website will include song lyrics, an online store with exclusive Of Montreal buyables, and some other surprises!
The band is planning a US tour (both east and west coast) for sometime around April, 2002.
More soon...

Of Montreal will be performing at the Emmaboda festival in Sweden on Thursday, August 9, at 7:30 pm. Also, Great Lakes (featuring Kevin, Jamey and Dottie) are currently on tour in Europe. For tour dates, visit the Great Lakes website.
Also, plans are afoot for a split 7" with The Late B.P. Helium on Jonathon Whiskey Records in the near future.
Of Montreal have returned from their east coast tour. Dottie says: "It's been a great summer so far for us. We're going to take a bit of a break (with Emmaboda in the center of it!) and then get to work on our new record."
Also, a limited number of Of Montreal T-Shirts from their recent tour are available! Anyone who's interested in buying one should contact the band directly at ofmontreal@kindercore.com.
(6/28 update: in the two days since this was announced, the t-shirts have all been reserved, and there are no more available at this time.)
Some unfortunate news to share: Of Montreal were denied entrance into Canada when they tried to cross the border, so all 3 Canadian shows on this tour have been cancelled. The tour will resume on Thursday, June 14 at the Empty Bottle in Chicago.
Of Montreal embark on the east coast leg of their tour, beginning today! The Ottawa show at Babylon, once tentative, is now confirmed. Of Montreal say, "we're eager to see all of our east coast pals again soon!"
There's a great new interview with Kevin in ZUMOnline, and not only will you find it insightful, you'll find it in the Magazine Rack.
