Goldilocks and the Three Bears Flannel story by Little Folk Visuals
5 Little Bears fingerpuppets-There is a polar bear, panda bear, black bear, grizzly bear, and koala bear. ( I made these-and yes I know.. a koala is not really a bear!!!)
I introduce this song: I am a Polar Bear by showing the children two small polar bears. I dance them around and make them walk, etc; Then I walk like a polar bear and encourage them to join in!! Sky Bears, we sit with our bears and dance them thru the air.
(I am a Polar Bear and Sky Bears by Paula Metzger, off of her Snowflakes to Rainbows CD.)
Freeze by Greg and Steve-We dance with our bears to this song and then stop when it's time to freeze.
Cinnamon Bear-Cinnamon, cinnamon, cinnamon bear
Sitting on a kitchen chair.
Cinnamon sugar in a shaker
Shake, shake, shake it like a baker.
Sprinkles it on buttered toast
It's the treat he eats the most
Cinnamon, cinnamon, cinnamon bear,
Do you think that we may share??
We do this fingerplay with motions. I also show the children recipe cards on making a cinnamon bear.
Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See-I use cut-outs from the book, and let the children use these to retell the story.
We use this color bear AAC overlay display to help us learn about bears and colors!! I use a scanner to make this display. This is wonderful for children who have little or no speech.
ASL signs to use:
Bear-Cross arms at shoulders and bring down to chest, while making a grimacing face. (hee, hee, the kids love this one!!)
3 Bears- Our music therapist did the 3 bears song: Pokey Pokey Bear, Sweet Honey Bear, and Busy Busy Bear. He had the kids dress up and then re-act their part during that part of the song. The kids loved this!!!
