The Dormition of St. Ephraim the Syrian The Lenten Prayer of St. Ephraim the Syrian
Said at least once daily throughout Great Lent

O Lord and Master of my life, take from me the spirit of sloth, faint-heartedness, lust of power and idle talk.

(Prostration)

But give, rather, the spirit of chastity, humility, patience and love to me, Thy servant.

(Prostration)

Yea, O Lord and King, grant me to see mine own transgressions and not to judge my brother. For Holy art Thou unto the ages of ages.
Amen.

(Prostration)

Then is said:
O God, cleanse Thou me a sinner
(12 times, with as many bows, and then again the whole prayer from the beginning throughout, and after that one great prostration)
