What was the first acting gig you got?
I played Albin Le Comte de la Tremouille in Schnitzler's [spells it for typist] The Green Cockatoo. Surely you know this.
Do you consider yourself an actor or a movie star, if an actor is one who takes on
different types of roles, while a movie star is one who is locked into a certain type of
role?
Mmm...I don't know...I think I'm a little bit of both.
Did you feel there was a good audience reaction to the NYC screening of Playing
God?
I didn't stay for the movie- obviously 'cause I've seen it, but I was told that people were
howling and laughing and cheering, and...and that it was a great audience response. I was
really happy about that.
What's the one thing you wish someone would walk away with after seeing Playing
God?
A T-shirt. Um, just that moral choices aren't always cut and dried. It's...it's not that easy
to live your life in a moral way. It's an adult point of view, not a kiddie movie like a lot of
movies out there. Then they're the adult movies that seem to be written by kids
[whispers:] Men In Black.
[Typist: "And that's the end. Do you wanna thank them, or tell them to go see Playing God?"]
Yeah. [laughs] Uh, send it to Chris Carter, tell him. I'm signing off here?
Thanks! Sorry if I didn't get to answer all your questions; sorry if I didn't seem to take all
of them absolutely seriously. But sometimes, the best questions would take so long to
answer, all you can do really is make a joke. And you go see Playing God tomorrow or
the next day, or I will find out who you are and where you live, and I will track you down
and force you to go see it personally! --Dave
