I am and always will be a fan of the "Late Great" Phyllis Hyman. I am originally from Philadelphia, Pa. I've seen her perform several times and would often see her walking and shopping in Center City. I reside in Atlanta, GA now where the southern folks here aren't familiar with her voice. That's when I proudly let them hear my iPod or put in a CD that's either in my car or home and let them soak in the sounds. There will never be another Phyllis Hyman!! I will never FORGET!!! her.
I really love Phyllis,she was so sweet and sorry she died the way she did,a pity I never met her,I would have given her all the love she craved and more,I am collecting her CD's as she has left the memories,a beautiful face and voice with us,so far they are 6 in my collection and making contacts to get all she recorded when she was alive.
This cd I've had for years,. You know she is so deep I mean really! was yesterday really such a long time ago? People seem to forget quick, but you know what? like Phyllis I found out why the night bird gets the love. Phil is the BOMB!!!!My GIRL Forever and like she said (forever with you)well I know she will be forever with me...........I LOVE YOU PHYLLIS.
This album represents the essence of Phyllis Hyman. One the song "Beautiful Man of Mine" Phyllis displays her playful and confident side. I wonder if she's talking about her ex husband Larry Alexander.Ummm.. Another favorite song of mine is "Loving you, Losing You" what a beautiful song, especially towards the end when the beat changes and she does the Phyllisism's; as only she can do. I like to turn the volume up at that point cause the base player goes into a fit of funk. My God.... "We both need each other" my favorite line is "I stuck by you, when your rent was too high and now all you can say, is goodbye" Tell it Phyllis...
