In 1980 I heard for first time the song " Somewhere in my life time " and I knew the singer was Phyllis Hyman , I recorded in a cassette tape, today Iam 48 years old, and still keep this cassette like a treasure , but you have to believe , last week , reading about Anita Baker ( I love her too ) I knew Phyllis Hyman had dead, today I felt sad, and I have begun to read all about her, next week I hope to record in a CD songs ( beautiful songs ) I have downloaded from the web . Today I see she was a beautiful woman. I love you Phyllis Hayman. My name is Mhebil Jose Galindo Quintero , and I live in La Victoria ,Aragua , Venezuela.

I too loved Phyllis Hyman and am always moved and touched by the lyrics she sang. Her existance was one of pain and anguish and she pleaded for love in so many of her songs. Hearing "Once in My Lifetime" surely exhibited her desperation for a love never found---only dreamed of. To lose an entertainer who expressed what so many of us feel is a true loss and her voice is now only a memory that plays on and over...again and again...

She was truly a beautiful woman. Her songs brought out what she was going through, if she only knew how much she helped other women through these songs. We will never forget this true diva. And she is a diva in every sense of the word.

I must say, I was listening to Phyllis's Prime of My Life CD, the one I had when it came out back in 1992. If it was not for Phyllis I would have never met my husband. When I met him I was playing to death the song Living In Confusion, over and over again. You see I worked in a bar. I almost burned that recorded out on the jukebox. My husband introduced me to the song Meet Me On the Moon and it is history from there. We have been together ever since. Phyllis and I also share something in common. You see I am a Cancer too, My birthday is the day before her's was. Yes, she will be sorly missed. A women of very great talent and she will always hold a special place in my heart forever. "Love You Phyllis"

I remember crying for days when I heard Phyllis Hyman died.
She was and will always be a great singer and I truly miss her. I'm entering a talent show this summer and plan to sing a song from Phyllis Hyman's albums. I hope I can do her "well".

It's great to hear such a beautiful voice that transends the deepest part of the soul. It's also sad to know the singer and her problems within herself. But her desire to give to others was apparently exactly what I listen today. As I listen to her CD's, I sing along and just for a brief moment I feel the pain and sorrow her lyrics bring emotion. I cry because love has to feel this way, that's is why I will always love you, Phyllis Hyman.

Although her life was brief, her music, beauty, and voice is forever. Thank you, Phyllis, for the gift that was you.
I'll "meet you on the moon" when the time comes...
Love Always,
Jay

Heard Phyllis' song "Old Friend" and just had to have her CD The Legacy of Phyllis Hyman. WOW I haven't quit playing it since. I absolutely love almost every song on it. What a fantastic voice. How I missed hearing that fantastic voice in the 70's is beyond me. Thank you Phyllis for all your beautiful music.

I heard phyliss when i was young an when i did she had the most prettiest voices. We lost one of the most greatest artist. My favorite was living all alone. I miss her as a great artist and singer. We know what would have come of her because we heard and seen, but we lost her way to soon. I wish we could turn back time and see this great women grow .
